The Arequipa City Tour

Arequipa is located at an altitude of 2325 meters in mountains of the Andes. This beautiful city is almost entirely made up of white limestone (parement), a kind of white volcanic natural stone. That is why Arequipa is also called the White City. Arequipa has about 1 million inhabitants and is the second largest city in Peru after Lima. The main square, the so-called 'Plaza de Armas' is the most beautiful in the country. The beautiful Cathedral and shopping gallery are in colonial style. It is the city of eternal spring because it is quite warm all year round.

During this City Tour we will visit the Plaza de Armas as standard. In addition, we visit emblematic Monastery of Santa Catalina which with its 20,000 square meters and thick and high walls is almost a city within a city and where the sisters still lead an almost isolated life to this day. In addition, we visit the house of Tristan del Pozo where one gets a good impression of how the well-to-do nobility of this city lived and lived centuries ago. Finally, we visit the church La Compañia, located on the Plaza de Armas. If desired, it is possible to add the Cathedral at an additional cost (not included as standard).
